Privacy policy

Last updated: 22 June 2026

The short version

The Money Verdict is built privacy-first: it works without ever knowing who you are. You are anonymous to other users by default, we do not show advertising, and we never sell your personal data. This policy explains, in plain language, the little we collect and the control you have.

Who we are

This website is operated by [Your legal entity / trading name] ("we", "us", "our"). For any privacy question or request, contact [privacy@themoneyverdict.com]. We are registered with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) under registration number [ICO registration number].

What we collect

If you just browse and judge: an assigned anonymous handle (e.g. anon-2891), the verdicts you cast, and basic anonymous usage data needed to run the service. No name and no account are required.

If you choose to sign in: your email address only — used to send a passwordless “magic link” and any alerts you opt into. We never ask for a password.

If you choose to: an optional profile such as age band and region, which powers the benchmarking features. You decide whether to provide this.

Automatically: essential storage that keeps you signed in and holds your place in the app, plus aggregate, privacy-friendly analytics that do not identify you or follow you across other websites.

What we never do

We never sell or rent your personal data, show you advertising, build advertising profiles about you, attach your verdicts to your real identity, or reveal who you are to other users.

Why we use your data (lawful bases)

We rely on consent for email sign-in and any optional analytics that require it, and on legitimate interests for operating, securing and improving the service and understanding aggregate usage. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.

How long we keep it

We keep personal data only as long as needed to provide the service. You can delete your account and associated personal data at any time. Anonymous, aggregated verdict data (which cannot identify you) may be retained to power benchmarks.

Who we share it with

Only the trusted service providers that host the site and send our emails, acting under contract on our instructions. We never share your personal data with advertisers or data brokers. If any provider processes data outside the UK, we put appropriate safeguards in place.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to our use of your data, and request portability or withdraw consent. Email [privacy@themoneyverdict.com] and we will respond within one month.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data. Passwordless sign-in means there is no password to be stolen or leaked.

Children

The service is intended for adults aged 18 and over and is not directed at children.

Complaints

Please contact us first at [privacy@themoneyverdict.com] so we can help. You also have the right to complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes

We may update this policy and will revise the “last updated” date above when we do.
