Terms of use

Last updated: 22 June 2026

Acceptance

Please read these terms carefully. By using The Money Verdict you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

What this is

The Money Verdict is a place to share and rate anonymous opinions on everyday money decisions, for community benchmarking and entertainment.

Not financial advice

This is important. The verdicts you see are opinions from members of the public — not professional, personalised or regulated financial advice. Benchmarks and figures are illustrative. We are not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. For decisions that matter — investments, pensions, debt, tax or mortgages — please speak to a qualified, FCA-authorised adviser.

If money is hard right now

You are not alone, and it is not a failing. Free, confidential help is available from StepChange and Citizens Advice.

Anonymity and your posts

You post anonymously. Please do not share information that identifies you or anyone else. We may moderate, edit or remove content at our discretion. Anonymity is not a shield for abuse, harassment or unlawful content.

Acceptable use

Be respectful. Do not post unlawful, hateful, harassing, deceptive or spam content, scrape the site, or publish other people’s personal or financial information.

Your content

You keep your rights in what you post. You grant us a licence to display and use submitted verdicts — anonymously and in aggregate — to operate and improve the service.

Our content

The site, its tools, design and text are owned by or licensed to us. Please do not copy or reproduce them without permission.

No warranty and liability

The service is provided “as is”. We do not guarantee the accuracy of benchmarks or that the service will be uninterrupted. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for decisions you make based on content here.

Changes and governing law

We may update these terms; continued use means you accept the changes. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
